Could my older home have asbestos?

Possibly: the Victorian Government says a home built or renovated before 1990 likely contains asbestos, in places like eaves, wall cladding, fences and the wall linings behind bathroom tiles. Until it has been tested, don't drill, sand, cut or pressure wash anything that might contain it. If asbestos is found, the Victorian Government recommends having it removed by an asbestos removalist rather than a general builder or tradesperson, and suggests asking any contractor how they'll manage asbestos. If your home is older, tell us roughly when it was built when you ask for a quote.
